NEW CONTAINERS NOW ACCEPTED
The Western Australian container deposit scheme expanded on 1 July 2026 and now includes almost all beverage containers between 150 millilitres and 3 litres.
The following containers can be recycled via Containers for Change:
- Most water and fizzy drink containers up to and including 3L, including water in casks
- Most alcohol containers, like beer bottles, wine bottles, spirit bottles and pre-mixed spirits
- All fruit and vegetable juices
- Flavoured milk containers
- Coconut water containers
- Cordial containers
- Wine packaged in plastic, sachets and casks
Containers for plain milk, registered health tonics and food for special medical purposes remain excluded and should be placed in the yellow-lidded recycling bin at home. See the detailed list of eligible containers.
